Hmmm….this is always a road block for me – what about me? There are so many places that I could start. Well I guess I’ll just tell you about the things that I’m in love with. In order: my family/friends, photography, music, graphic design, food, crafting/painting, reading, the beach, reading at the beach, sitting on my back porch with my babies, party planning/entertaining, interior decorating, my home, cooking……ok – not really in order, I think I love everything equally.
My passion is photography and graphic design. My background is in fine arts but I have evolved with the times and most of my work now involves some electronic device (camera, computer, etc.) Although I do hold a special place in my heart for acrylics on canvas. I love getting messy and then cleaning up when I’m all done – there is a sense of closure when you stand back and look at your work of art, wash your hands, rinse your brushes and pack everything up. When your paint/glue/glitter dries, that’s it, time to start on a new project. With an electronic document, you can always go back and tweak it, kearning just a smidge more or adding just one more action to your photo – I feel like it’s never done.
Don’t get me wrong, I love photography and graphic design so much – I think it is actually what defines me as a person today, besides being a daughter, wife and mother. It’s just that as early as I can remember, I would get any scrap paper I could find and draw. Space ships and home interiors, houses, my family, pets, and food were the subjects of my work – anything really that came to mind. Painting began when I was about 15, in the middle of my bedroom floor. Somehow I got a hold of tempera paints and a sketch book and went to town. I loved it! Where had it been my entire life?
So here I am today to share everyday things with you. Things that my daughter Maddie does to make me giggle, things my husband does for me to make me appreciate him more and more everyday, things that make me want to get up every morning with a smile on my face.
Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
PS – If you would like a photo session, let me know! I’m working on my website which should be up and running very shortly – stay tuned!
